Transit in Thailand
Music and Lyrics: Souhei Oyamada
Transit in Thailand
Tonight as well white, black and yellow monkeys are dancing at a party
CNN’s explosive sound*
A road movie that capitalists are crazy about
Sawadee clap your hands**
Transit in Thailand
A beach party I’m struggling through with my body like a jellyfish
On the other side of the horizon that the retired old men are gazing at, a brand new game is waiting***
Sawadee clap your hands
Transit in Thailand
The monkeys crowd the Khaosan Road
Boys and girls and a blind singer smile back at me
Notes:
*I don’t know what CNN he means
**I think this is a play on words? “Sawadee krap” (or various other slightly different pronunciations/spellings of it) seems to be a Thai greeting used by men, but I guess since the end sounds like “kurappu” (loan word for “clap”) Souhei fused the two words together and it’s like “Hello, clap your hands”
***Not sure about this line
